Pro Skater 3's soundtrack album was released on Octoby Warner Bros. The Xbox version had an improved framerate over the PlayStation 2 and GameCube version, also including an exclusive level, the Oil Rig. In both the Nintendo 64 and PlayStation versions, the wooden sides on the board (around the grip tape) had colors (except Bam Margera, Jamie Thomas, and the custom skater's decks), and the game had brand new tricks such as the Cannonball, Wrap Around, Fingerflip, Del Mar Indy and a brand new animation for the Airwalk.
The PlayStation and Nintendo 64 versions run on the Pro Skater 2 engine, with a different revert animation that is the same as the PlayStation version of Pro Skater 4. The game stood out in the franchise for being the first title to have online capabilities. This system would later be refined in Pro Skater 4. For example, double-tapping the kickflip button would, naturally, make the character perform a double kickflip. These were variations on standard tricks that could be performed as grab, flip, lip, or grind tricks. This allowed for much longer combos than in the previous two games, where landing in a quarterpipe would finish a combo. This game saw the introduction of the revert, a trick that enabled vert combos to be tied together with a manual, by tapping a button when landing in a quarterpipe.

All in all I think the game is a great idea with just enough different to keep you from saying "This is just like Tony Hawk 2". The advanced park editor is a good idea and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to make a good one. Sound wise I sometimes find myself singing with the song "Blitzkrieg Bop." There are other good songs also. As far as graphics go, maybe the game isn't exactly something new but that doesn't make a game what it is. Don't get me wrong, I love THPS3, and plan on getting my own PS2 for that game alone, but don't waste your time on the PS version. It just didn't feel like I was playing the same game. It didn't have the smooth feeling of the PS2 version. I felt like I was playing THPS2 in the THPS3 levels. I expected the graphics to be lower, but I didn't expect that much of a drop.
Then I rented it for my regular PS and it made me sad. I can honestly say it was one of the best games I've ever played. It didn't have the smooth I first played THPS3 for the PS2 (my friend's PS2) and it blew my mind. I first played THPS3 for the PS2 (my friend's PS2) and it blew my mind.
